Following Wales - A Nation of Sanctuary?, we received enquiries from members of the community about how to support refugees in Cardiff. Here are some resources and organisations which you might be interested in:

  • Oasis: Supporting over 3,500 people in Cardiff every year with a range of free, drop-in services.

  • Housing Justice Cymru: Taking action on homelessness in Wales, including running the Hosting Project.

  • Wales Refugee Council: Empowering sanctuary seekers and refugees to create new futures in Wales.

  • Space4U: Services for asylum seekers and refugees at St Germans Church Hall, Splott. Returning to the Trinity Centre on Four Elms Road from July 2025.

  • RefugeeCardiff: A directory of local services.

  • Cardiff City of Sanctuary: A network of over 52 organisations who have pledged to support the nation of sanctuary values.

We’ve also been asked about contacting your local MS. The Senedd website has a useful tool for finding your representative by entering your postcode. Find your local MS.

Grenfell United continue their campaign to remember, reflect and demand justice. Read their ‘how you can take action’ guide.

Looking ahead, you might also be interested in celebrating Refugee Week at Chapter, where we’ve programmed a series of films sharing refugee and migrant stories, as well as a singing workshop with Oasis and a talk from the General Director of the Al Harah Theatre in Palestine.

Our friends at Common/Wealth are currently working on a new show exploring police injustice and the undercover infiltration of activist networks. Demand The Impossible opens at the Corn Exchange in Newport, from 6-13 October.
