As parliament debates freedom of movement, this documentary shows the brutal reality of non-European migrants and asylum seekers on their journey to reach a safe country, away from war and persecution for their ideology, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, climate change and poverty. As thousands die at sea lacking safe routes or encounter violence at the hands of border patrol we hear from people behind the statistics throughout Europe and North Africa, through interviews with activists, academics, diplomats and refugees.
